This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out the rules and restrictions that apply to your access to and use of Writto, including our website, application, software, features, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
This Policy forms part of the Writto Terms of Service and is incorporated into those Terms by reference. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Service.
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to comply with this Policy.
1. Purpose
Writto is designed to help individuals and organizations research, plan, create, optimize, manage, and publish content.
We want Writto to remain a safe, reliable, and responsible platform. This Policy describes activities and uses that are prohibited or restricted when using the Services.
You are responsible for your use of Writto and for ensuring that your use complies with this Policy and all applicable laws and regulations.
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not use the Services to engage in, facilitate, promote, or assist with unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive activities.
2.1 Illegal Activities
You may not use Writto to:
- Violate applicable laws, regulations, or legal requirements.
- Facilitate criminal activity.
- Defraud, deceive, or unlawfully exploit another person or organization.
- Facilitate money laundering, sanctions violations, or other unlawful financial activities.
- Create or distribute content intended to facilitate unlawful activity.
- Evade applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
2.2 Fraud and Deception
You may not use Writto to create or distribute content intended to:
- Impersonate another person or organization;
- Fraudulently misrepresent identity, affiliation, qualifications, or authority;
- Conduct phishing or other deceptive schemes;
- Defraud customers, users, businesses, or other parties;
- Create fabricated evidence or fraudulent documentation;
- Mislead people about material facts for unlawful or harmful purposes; or
- Facilitate scams or other fraudulent activities.
2.3 Harmful or Abusive Content
You may not use the Services to create, distribute, or facilitate content that:
- Promotes violence against individuals or groups;
- Encourages serious physical harm;
- Facilitates exploitation or abuse;
- Promotes terrorism or violent extremist activity;
- Facilitates human trafficking or exploitation;
- Encourages self-harm or suicide;
- Exploits or sexually abuses minors; or
- Otherwise facilitates serious harm to individuals or communities.
Nothing in this section prohibits lawful discussion, reporting, research, education, or other legitimate uses that do not facilitate prohibited activity.
2.4 Intellectual-Property Violations
You may not use Writto to:
- Infringe copyright, trademark, patent, or other intellectual-property rights;
- Misappropriate another person's protected content or proprietary materials;
- Circumvent technological measures designed to protect copyrighted or proprietary content;
- Create or distribute content that unlawfully impersonates protected brands or works; or
- Submit content to Writto when you do not have the necessary rights or authorization to use that content.
You are responsible for ensuring that Customer Content submitted to Writto does not violate third-party rights.

2.5 Privacy and Personal Data
You may not use Writto to unlawfully collect, process, expose, distribute, or misuse another person's Personal Data.
You must not use the Services to:
- Obtain Personal Data without appropriate authorization;
- Publish or expose sensitive personal information without lawful justification;
- Facilitate unauthorized surveillance or tracking;
- Circumvent privacy protections; or
- Process Personal Data in violation of applicable privacy laws.
If you submit Personal Data to Writto, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the appropriate legal basis, authorization, and rights to do so.
2.6 Spam and Unsolicited Communications
You may not use Writto to create, facilitate, or distribute:
- Spam;
- Unsolicited bulk communications;
- Phishing messages;
- Malicious email campaigns;
- Deceptive promotional communications; or
- Other communications that violate applicable anti-spam or marketing laws.
Using Writto to assist with legitimate marketing communications does not, by itself, violate this Policy, provided that your activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
2.7 Security Abuse
You may not use the Services to:
- Introduce malware, viruses, ransomware, or other malicious code;
- Attempt unauthorized access to Writto or another person's Account;
- Probe, scan, or test Writto systems for vulnerabilities without authorization;
- Circumvent authentication or security controls;
- Interfere with the operation of the Services;
- Conduct denial-of-service or similar attacks;
- Obtain or attempt to obtain credentials belonging to another person;
- Deploy malicious scripts or payloads; or
- Use Writto to facilitate attacks against third-party systems.
Good-faith security research must be conducted only through channels and programs expressly authorized by Writto.
3. Misuse of AI Features
Because Writto provides AI-powered features, you must not use those features to intentionally generate or facilitate content that violates this Policy or applicable law.
You must not attempt to manipulate, bypass, disable, or circumvent technical safeguards, usage restrictions, content controls, or other protections implemented by Writto or its service providers.
You must not use prompts, instructions, automated methods, or other techniques specifically designed to circumvent safeguards or cause the Services to perform prohibited activities.
4. Academic and Professional Misrepresentation
You may not use Writto to facilitate fraud or material misrepresentation in professional, academic, regulatory, or other contexts.
Examples include:
- Creating fraudulent credentials;
- Fabricating professional qualifications;
- Creating fake certificates or licenses;
- Generating fraudulent regulatory documents;
- Creating fabricated evidence intended to deceive;
- Misrepresenting AI-generated material as verified expert analysis where doing so would be deceptive or unlawful.
Writto does not prohibit legitimate use of AI-assisted writing, editing, research, or brainstorming where such use complies with applicable rules and requirements.
5. High-Risk Uses
You should not rely solely on Writto-generated content for decisions that could materially affect a person's health, safety, legal rights, financial position, employment, education, housing, insurance, or access to essential services.
AI-generated information may contain errors or omissions.
Where a decision involves significant legal, financial, medical, safety, or regulatory consequences, you are responsible for obtaining appropriate human review and professional advice.
6. Automated Access and Platform Abuse
Unless expressly authorized by Writto, you may not:
- Use bots or automated systems to access the Services in a manner that exceeds reasonable usage;
- Scrape or systematically extract data from the Services;
- Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions;
- Create multiple Accounts to bypass restrictions;
- Abuse free trials, promotional credits, or referral programs;
- Resell access to the Services without authorization;
- Share Account credentials in violation of your Subscription Plan; or
- Use the Services in a manner that places an unreasonable burden on Writto's infrastructure.
7. Account and Credential Misuse
You may not:
- Access another person's Account without authorization;
- Share credentials in a manner that violates your Subscription Plan;
- Sell, transfer, or otherwise improperly provide access to an Account;
- Create Accounts using false or misleading information; or
- Use another person's identity or credentials to access the Services.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials.
8. Circumvention of Service Restrictions
You may not attempt to bypass or circumvent:
- Subscription restrictions;
- Credit or usage limits;
- Authentication mechanisms;
- Rate limits;
- Security controls;
- Feature restrictions;
- Geographic restrictions; or
- Other technical or contractual limitations imposed by Writto.
This includes using multiple Accounts, automated methods, modified software, or other techniques intended to defeat such restrictions.
9. Customer Content
You are solely responsible for Customer Content that you submit, upload, generate, store, or otherwise process through Writto.
You represent and warrant that:
- You have the necessary rights and permissions to use and submit the Customer Content;
- Your Customer Content complies with applicable laws;
- Your Customer Content does not violate third-party rights; and
- Your use of the Customer Content through Writto complies with this Policy.
Writto does not routinely review all Customer Content, but we may investigate content or activity where reasonably necessary to enforce this Policy, protect the Services, comply with legal obligations, or address security or abuse concerns.
10. Reporting Violations
If you believe that another user is violating this Policy, you may report the activity to us.
Reports should include sufficient information for us to understand the nature of the suspected violation and, where possible, relevant supporting information.

We may investigate reports at our discretion and take action where appropriate.
11. Enforcement
If we determine or reasonably believe that you have violated this Policy, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Issue a warning;
- Remove or restrict access to content;
- Restrict specific features;
- Limit Account functionality;
- Suspend access to the Services;
- Terminate your Account;
- Restrict future access;
- Cancel applicable subscriptions;
- Take technical measures to prevent continued abuse; or
- Take other action permitted by applicable law.
The action we take will depend on factors such as the nature, severity, and frequency of the violation, the potential harm involved, and our legal or security obligations.
We may take immediate action where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Services, or third parties.
12. Legal Requests and Cooperation
We may preserve, disclose, or otherwise process information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law;
- Respond to valid legal process;
- Protect our rights or property;
- Protect users or third parties;
- Investigate suspected fraud or abuse;
- Address security incidents; or
- Prevent unlawful activity.
Our handling of Personal Data in connection with such activities is governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
13. Policy Updates
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes to:
- The Services;
- Applicable laws or regulations;
- Security requirements;
- Industry practices; or
- The types of misuse we need to address.
When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Services, our website, email, or another appropriate method.
The updated Policy will become effective on the date stated at the beginning of the revised Policy.
Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of the revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
14. Relationship to the Terms of Service
This Policy forms part of the Writto Terms of Service.
If there is a conflict between this Policy and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service will control unless this Policy expressly states otherwise.
A violation of this Policy constitutes a violation of the Terms of Service and may result in suspension or termination of access to the Services.
